The major concepts of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs theory include the idea that human needs are arranged in a hierarchical order, and that each need must be met before an individual can move on to fulfill the next higher-level need. Maslow’s hierarchy consists of five levels of needs, including physiological needs, safety needs, love and belonging needs, esteem needs, and self-actualization needs. The theory proposes that once an individual has fulfilled their basic physiological and safety needs, they are able to focus on meeting their social and esteem needs, and ultimately their self-actualization needs.
